What Causes Constant Bladder Infections?

I get constant bladder infections, and want a more detailed understanding of what is happening down there. I feel there may be an unbalance of good and bad Bacteria in that region, would taking pro-biotics regularly help keep away the bad bacteria? Could there be another problem, perhaps earlier in my system- gut, intestine etc? because I find that depending on what food I eat, I get agitation in the bladder. I have tried lately to eat more alkaline food, and stay away from acidic foods but it doesn t seem to help. When I take supplements, they agitate my bladder, when I take alkaline sashets they bring on an infection, Please don t tell me to take cranberry pills or powder or whatever, I do that all the time and it makes no difference. Even when I take a course of antibiotics, they don t really work, within days I ll have another one. I am getting desperate, I need help figuring out the problem, it is effecting my whole life.
