Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My husband is not feeling well. He is never ill. He has aches all over with a slight temperature of 99.1. No sniffles or congestion. I thought maybe Lyme so I checked for the bullet rash and found none. He is a golfer and we live in Florida where we are outside all the time.
Fever is a symptom of an underlying disease. There are many causes of fever such as malaria, typhoid, infectious mononucleosis, TB, Lyme disease, and Dengue fever etc. Advice 1. Azithromycin 500 mg daily per oral for 5 days 2. Paracetamol 500 mg per oral if fever occurs 3. Cold water sponging if fever is more than 100 degree Farenheight 4. Investigations – CBC, ESR, Widal test, blood smear for malarial parasite, and dengue NS1 antigen Also get tested for other febrile conditions which are prevalent in Florida. Consult a doctor with reports if fever is not relieved by above measures. I hope this information will help you. I will be happy if you ask another question Thanks
