What Causes Constant Choking On Food Along With Breathlessness?

My husband has a real hard time eating certain foods. When he has rice or chicken it (even very small amounts) gets stuck in the esophagus, mid chest and hurts. Sometimes it seems to cut off his air. Most times he can get it to come back up. He is a lot of pain when this is happening.

Different medical conditions can cause similar manifestations in form of choking . Zenker's diverticulum , esophageal motility disorders, esophageal strictures , achalasia , esophageal tumor should be ruled out with help of proper diagnostic tests like barium meal study , upper endoscopy.
I would suggest you to consult gastroenterologist straightaway for further evaluation and proper treatment.
