Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Constant Cramps And Extreme Stiffness In The Feet?
For the last two weeks I have had continuous cramping in my feet. Mornings the feet are extremely stiff.. seems to be centered around the ball of my foot. It can happen through out the day and at night also. It is in both feet and sometimes the cramping even moves up to the ankle and calf area. I also sometimes feel like my hands are tight and cramping. I am normal weight and do some kind of exercise; walking, tennis, weights, elliptical about 5 days per week. I drink plenty of water.
Hi thanks for your query. Toe cramps have various triggers, but overuse, dehydration, and mineral deficiencies particularly, potassium, calcium, and magnesium. When you exercise, you sweat out the minerals your muscles need. And that deficiency causes muscle contractions or spasms, which we call cramps. thank you.
