What Causes Constant Cramps While Treating A Uterine Fibroid?

I had a D&C and ablation in 2010 due to heavy painful periods. I had a uterine fibroid that measured 1cm at the time. My doctor said not to worry about it. I have had cramping ever since the procedures and at time it is very painful. Had a transvaginal ultra sound and pelvic catscan done. I was told that that 1cm fibroid is now 5cm in size, The doctor said not possible because it couldn t grow after ablation. Im so confused. I am now 51 years old. 3 normal pregnancy s with the 3rd one ending in emergency c-section. I have massive scar tissue from the incision as it goes hip to hip. Is it normal to have cramping for all this time.. ? We discussed hysterectomy but doctor said that it could be my bowel? Now I am really confused. any input would be greatly appreciated.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

* As per my clinical experience, the constant cramps with uterine fibroids can be part of compression or stretching of underlying pelvic organs.

* However, if you can provide me scanned copy of ultrasound report, it can be better guidelines oriented session.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel
