I have my 11 week old neice staying with me tonight and she has been constant crying but screaming as well since she arrived at 6.30. She has had her nappy changed 4 times, shes been fed and winded she also had a little sleep for about 20 mins. apparently this is the norm in my sisters house but i dont think this is right. Can you help?

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

It is common for newborns to cry at night and sleep during day. If the baby is otherwise active and feeding well, this need not be worried. Be sure that there is no diaper rash or oral thrush, baby is not cold (keep clothed) and no mosquito bites- common reasons for excessive cry.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam T. K., Pediatrician
