What Causes Constant Diarrhea In A Child?

Hi, My 1.5 year old son has diarrhoea but his stool test was normal apart from the fact that it is acidic. He is having diarrhoea for more than a week now. Paediatrician has prescribed us Coligyl. Not sure what else can be done given it has been a while now. Thanks.

Hello,

For improving the digestion of small babies, best and safe, harmless thing is to give the paste of chebulic myrobalan and bilv (BAEL) powder mixed and licked with honey. Myrobalan cleans the gut and detoxify it but while the child is having diarrhea, it still may be given to clean the gut of accumulated mucous and to improve appetite. BAEL powder will take care of antidiarrheal and antimicrobial properties.

If for some reason diarrhea continues, Myrobalan may be withdrawn after 3 days and continue Bilv powder.
