What Causes Constant Discomfort Below The Ribcage?
I have been having discomfort on my right side under my rib cage. It comes and goes. My Dr did blood work and said my see rate is high. He is having me have a ct scan done on Monday. I do have high cholesterol and high blood pressure. What should I expect and should I be worried
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have constant discomfort below the ribcage . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query gallstones , inflammation of the muscles of the rib cage , damaged liver , inflammation of the pancreas or reflux of acid , trauma or appendicitis . I would suggest you to consult gastroenterologist for proper examination . Doctor may order ultrasound , endoscopy or physical examination. Doctor may also order liver function test and treat it accordingly . Doctor may also refer you to orthopedic surgeon for muscle spasm or broken rib . For now take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain .
