Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am tired all the time and have trouble staying awake at work. I have been exercising for the last month and sometimes when I finish, I just want to go home, take a shower and take a nap. My husband had a heart attack a month ago and we have changed our eating habits and started exercising. Can you suggest why I might be so tired all the time?
There are different possible causes for fatigue such as: (1) anemia- low hemoglobin can cause tiredness. A complete blood count can determine if the hemoglobin level is normal
(2)chronic illness such as diabetes, liver, kidney or heart disease
(3)side effect of medication
(4)insomnia
IF your fatigue continues then you would need to see your doctor for an evaluation which would include blood tests and physical examination.
I hope this helps
