What Causes Constant Fluttering And Palpitations In The Heart?
I am having heart palpitations and heart flutters frequently throughout the day. When I go to bed and im falling asleep right before im fully asleep something jolts me awake and I gasp for air for a few seconds and wake up. Any ideas? Im a female 5 8 179lbs .

Heart palpitations can be due to intrinsic heart disease, high thyroid hormone levels, anemia , side effect of medication/chemicals (Eg caffeine).
Heart disease, thyroid disease and anemia can be ruled out. Blood tests such as thyroid function tests and a complete blood count would be needed.
An ECG to take a look at the rhythm of the heart would also be needed.
