What Causes Constant Gagging Sensation In Throat Along With Chronic Cough?
I have a chronic dry cough that has lasted for 20 years. It has never been diagnosed after allergy tests full pulmonary test, a scope and tests for gerd. It feels as though I have a dry patch in my throat. I am constantly clearing my throat (nothing there) and cannot talk long before this cough kicks in. The cough is almost always triggered when I start to eat or drink. I have recently started to wonder if my snoring could be the cause.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of constant gagging sensation in throat along with chronic cough which is due to chronic lung infection or bronchitis which can cause chronic cough. It could be due to poor and compromised immunity of body. Need not to worry much. I would suggest you to visit pulmonologist once and get it examined. You should go for pulmonary function tests as well to check exact level of infection. You need inhaled bronchodilators and antihistamine drug. You should get x-ray chest done as well. You should take cough expectorants as well. You should use mist humidifiers in room. You should avoid cold carbonated beverages and intake of outside food.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
