What Causes Constant Headaches And Body Chills While Suffering From Kidney Stones?

My husband is in the process of dealing with kidney stones. They did a CT scan and it showed that he had two small stones that were seen. He was given medication for his vomiting, help the stone to pass and another for the pain. This started on Sunday, it is now Tuesday, and he says he has pain but not the excruciating pain he had when I took him to the ER. However, now he is experiencing a constant headache and chills, and is extremely tired, i.e., exhausted. He has stopped taking the pain med, and is still taking the other med to help the stone to pass, (flomax, I believe is its name). Do I take him back to ER or have him continue resting and taking it easy

Short answer : Yes.

Explanation : Your doctor probably believed that those kidney stones were small enough to pass through urine after medication and doesn't need any surgical treatment.

In my opinion, weakness he is feeling could be due to hypokalemia due to excess amount of urination as a result of flomax intake.so if weakness persists or worsen do visit doctor and get blood investigation done.

I still believe he doesn't need any surgical treatment now but above doubt should get cleared.

Weakness could be due to increased stress, decreased food intake. So ensure appropriate food intake. Continue medication for pain relief. And visit your doctor for above mentioned reason.
