What Causes Constant Headaches And Vomiting In A Child?

Hello, I have an 11 year son who is constantly making himself sick (headaches and vomiting). I know it has to do with anxiety as I used to be the same way but at a younger age than him. I am at my witts end because he has missed way too much school because of this. I have tried lavender oils (which is a calming type oil), but doesn t seem to work. Any suggestions? Thank you

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi.

Thanks for asking .

It's obvious to concern about child as mother. If your son is having headaches in his half hemisphere which is aggravate by any of factors like sunlight, heat, excess stress, inadequate sleep and associated with vomiting, it might be Migraine. But this should be confirmed by ruling out other causes. You can take advice of MD Physician or neuro physician.

For acute migraine attack Sumatriptan (triptans) are there and for prophylaxis also different medicines are available.

Thanks.
