My fiancé just had his second fundiplication surgery two weeks ago and he s worse. He cant eat and has lost 10 pounds. The hiccuping is all day every day and so is the belching. He can t sleep and want the surgery totally reversed. Can he do the reversal now or does he have to wait! He says he can t live like this. The bloating is terrible and he hasn t even eaten!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear welcome to HCM
Regarding your fiance experience with hiccups belching anorexia abdominal bloating weight loss following a fundoplication surgery i am suggesting that he has developed a Diaphragmatic irritation with paralytic ileus

In view of this please schedule an appointment with a gastroenterologist specialist for expert clinical evaluation and possible revision surgery as well as adequate drug prescription

I hope this helps Regards
