What Causes Constant Muscle Twitching During Pregnancy?
Hello I m 28 weeks pregnant and have been having muscle twitches almost every day since getting pregnant. They are mostly in my legs, especially feet and sometimes arms. I also get a twitch in my left temple at night. About a month ago i started taking b12 injections which seems to be helping a little. What could be causing this? There s also a favorite spot on the underside of my left foot. Twitches are most constant there.
Since hemodilution takes place during pregnancy, there could be a relative deficiency of these minerals, namely calcium and magnesium, which could manifest in such symptoms.
Kindly take calcium and magnesium supplements in the form of medications along with foods rich in these minerals like milk, dry fruits, and nuts. Gradually, you should be able to overcome the symptoms.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Ashakiran S, General & Family Physician
