What Causes Constant Nose Bleeds In Patients With Delayed Concussions?
My daughter (17) got elbowed in nose one month ago it didn t seem serious didn t bleed or bruise or out of shape...A wk later she became unwell had constant headache nose bleed and clear discharge from nose..went to a &e and diagnosed fractured nose no treatment only pain relief ...Two wks later she got worse dizzy nausea tired and pressure behind her eye ..went back to hospital they wouldn t scan her and diagnosed delayed concussion .but now a month later she still has symptoms and blood from nose every day is this normal?
Bleed from the nose at a period of 1 month is absolutely not normal as it is associated with clear discharge from nose which indicates possible damage to cribriform plate of brain. However, I would request you to provide me all the plates of her last CT scan or MRI for detailed evaluation and further guidelines.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
