What Causes Constant Pain Around The Navel?

Hi, my mother has this constant pain around navel and she feels suffocated most of the day. She feels that something goes up from navel to chest and has also started feeling weakness and uneasiness. Her all the basic reports are normal however calcified uterus fibroid has been discovered in sonography. Please suggest?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi
Thanks for posting on HCM
Pain around navel could be due to:
-Umbilical hernia
-Digestive parasites
-Consipation
-Refered pain from other medical conditions like appendicitis, gastritis, Irritable bowel syndrome, Mesenteric artery ischemia...
I will suggest you give her anti-spasmodic pain drug like spasfon and take her to the Doctor for examination.Tests that may help identify cause of her problem may include: stool exam/culture, abdominal ultrasound and other tests depending on the diagnostic orientation of the Doctor.
Hope this will help
Wish your mum good health
