Hi welcome to HCM
I can understand your concern for your constant pain at the base of my neck affecting daily functions
Dear pains are part and parcel of one's life and there are many factors
causing of
neck pain as -;
Abnormalities in the bone or joints ,Trauma , Poor posture ,
Degenerative diseases , Tumors ,
Muscle strain .
As you already have been treated recently for a
tension headache with muscle relaxers , without any benefit , I would like to inform you that taking only meds or muscles relaxers will not help cure unless you modify your life style .
The treatment of
soft tissue neck and
shoulder pain often includes the use of anti-inflammatory medication such as ibuprofen (Advil or Motrin) Depending on the source of pain, drugs like muscle relaxers and even antidepressants might be helpful. Pain also may be treated with a local application of moist heat or ice.
For both neck and pain movement, exercises may help.
Gently Back bending , rotating clockwise and anti clockwise of neck , stretching and back bending of shoulders and spine gently all around to strengthen muscles for long lasting relief from pains
Avoid fast, fried foods smoking ,anxiety ,anger ,
dehydration ,
constipation Hope this helps solve your query . Take care .All the best
