What Causes Constant Pain In Abdomen And Lower Pelvis?

Have been having generalized stomach pain for years. Had gall bladder removed in 05 and was after told I may have IBS related to bile. More recently, had explorative blood labs (IBD panel) 3 times that stated suggestive of Crohn s disease but no doctor has seemed concerned so far because I am not having bleeding in my stool. Had EGD that came back with result of gastritis and severe esophagitis. Was given Carafate and Prilosec. Past 2 years have been worse with stomach symptoms, random severe chills and body aches with little to no temp, joints pains, vertigo and dizziness, with normal bloodwork. Only most recently as of last week I FINALLY had some off numbers in labs...elevated WBC of 12 and ESR of 36. Slightly elevated, but elevated. Also persistent lower left pelvic area pain (dull ache) constant with no source. I am 35 year old woman. Looking for an y hep or suggestions.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my clinical experience, I would like to figure out 2 main points against this query:
1. Long term stomach discomfort might be concern of undetected or untreated H.Pylori infection of stomach, for which a stomach biopsy or H.Pylori breath test is mandatory.
2. Lower abdomen and pelvic discomfort needs an evaluation with CT scan as non invasive modality and Colonoscopy as invasive model of clinical approach.

If any results of above are available, I would be eager to discuss further as per my surgical experience.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
