What Causes Constant Pain In Lungs While Treating Atelectasis?
I had bronchitis, and it turned into Atelectasis. My doctor had me on strong antibiotics for 7 days, I finished the course a little over a week ago and he told me to just do breathing exercises and tap on my left side to try and inflate my lung again and get rid of fluids. My lung hurts constantly but i don t want to bother my doctor again because he said he wants another chest xray in 2 weeks, it hasn t been 2 weeks yet but this pain is almost unbareable, I m doing my exercises etc but i feel like nothing is changing or helping, i just want it to be over already, what can i do?
I understand your hesitation to see the doctor but any worsening of the symptoms while on treatment with antibiotics for lung problems needs to be consulted with the doctor as soon as possible. The pain can be due to a worsening of the infection or due to chest pain from cough.
It is the visit with the doctor that will determine which is the cause of the pain in your case and which is the best course of treatment.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General & Family Physician
