Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have pain in my belly button. It seems to be directly under the skin at the top of my belly button and slightly above it as well. pain is constant and enough to be annoying/worrisome but not severe. When I bend down to pick something up it hurts worse. I am also unable to lay on my stomach because of it. Can you give me some ideas of what it could be? Thank you
Bloating with belly button pain can also be caused by appendicitis. This condition occurs when the appendix becomes infected and then inflamed.
The appendix is part of the large intestine, which is why the pain is near the belly button. I suggest doing an abdominal ultrasound for further evaluation.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
