What Causes Constant Pain In The Big Toe?

I m having constant pain in my big toe from the tip of my toe to about an inch past the joint, the joint is very sore and gets more painful if pressure is applied. The side of my toe where the joint is is a red color about the size of a quarter. It s more painful when I try to walk on it. I ve never had anything like this before, I m severely obese, I think I drink enough water (8-10 glasses a day) but my nutrition isn t great. I am on medication for acid reflux, I take a mild diuretic, and a mild pill to keep my blood pressure in check (without it my pressure was 190/90). This has been happening for about a week but has gotten worse in the last few days. It also doesn t seem to matter if I have shoes on or not. PLEASE HELP!!! Any suggestions or information would be appreciated.
