General & Family Physician, Dr. Maninder's Response
Hi,
The leg pain described by you can be either direct effect of the trauma as described by you or it can be due to some nerve injury. If the discomfort is too painful, you may go for a detailed examination with your health care provider to come to an etiology. You can go for nerve studies to rule out any nerve injury. Also, check for varicose veins that may be the cause of pulsating pain in the legs although unrelated to the injury as described by you. Please get your legs checked for tortuosity of the blood vessels to rule out the same.
Some rare causes can be an aneurysm of blood vessels in the leg and deep vein thrombosis, that again can be ruled out by examination and investigations only. To subside the symptom of pain take painkillers whenever you feel it too much discomforting.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Maninder, General & Family Physician
