What Causes Constant Pain In The Lower Back?

Yes, I am an active, healthy woman with minor lower back issues likely due to my profession as a police officer wearing heavy equipment. I see a chiropractor regularly and manage it. For the past 2 weeks I have had moderate, lingering pain in lower back, hips and mid-section. It feels muscular and achy. I have not injured myself or started any new activities other than running, weight lifting, which I do on a regular basis. I have no other symptoms such as fever or dietary problems. Thoughts?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
Thank you for trusting HCM

The pain you are experiencing could possibly be due to Muscle strain.
You can apply ice, take rest. Avoid strenuous activity like lifting weights. You can also take Ibuprofen 400 mg up to 4 times daily for pain.
Once the acute pain has subsided you can switch from ice to heat therapy.
If the pain is not decreasing in 7 days, please follow up with your primary care provider t get a Xray/MRI of Lumbar spine to rule out fracture/disc prolapse.

Hope this answers your question
