What Causes Constant Pounding In Head Following Concussion?

About a week ago I was in an accident and I was knocked out for a minute and a half and suffered a decently bad concussion. The first few days after I returned home from the hospital my head seemed to just heart non stop everywhere, almost as if my heartbeat was coming straight from my skull. Recently in the past few days I have been getting better and better, but once a day the top front right side of my head is just pounding and feels like someone is poking me with a pickaxe almost. I was curious as to perhaps if a certain part of the brain in that location and its job per say was what was creating this terrible pain. I am also curious as to what I could do to hopefully make that certain area of pain start to fade away a little bit or at lease not be so dominant. I want to state that I am aware of post concussion syndrome and I am also aware that I am going through it, this pain feels different than the pain that I had had from knocking myself silly, it feels a bit more subjective. Please let me know if you have any answers!
