I have a concern about my surgery and don t want to do anything drastic like calling my surgeon if my condition isn t serious.. 5 months ago I fractured c5 and c6. before surgery was performed they had attempted traction to put my spine back in place. because that was ineffective surgery was performed. during surgery bone had to be removed and in place of that there is a cage in place. to further stabilize my spine they had put in metal plates to hold the cage in place. along with pins and rods and pedical screws as well.. I have since been in physical therapy, I am being treated for a concussion as well. my concern is the symptoms I am experiencing. I have a constant ringing In my ears that does not go away. I have tension headaches in the temple. at times my elbows get a tingly feeling. my butt cheek gets a tingling sensation sometimes too on the left side when I m sitting down. yesterday I felt a pain which felt like some kind of joint pain in the middle of my back. today I am experiencing increased pain in the neck like something is putting pressure on it. I can describe it as a throbbing pain. I am concerned that the hardware is loose. again I am at 5 months post operation. I am due for a follow up in mid April 2015. the pain in my neck is making difficult to stand up from a sitting position. if you could please tell give me some advice on what I should do I would appreciate that . again I don t want to do anything drastic unless I am told I should. my name is Shane Lockwood. my surgery was done at UPMC PRESBYTERIAN shady side, Pittsburgh PA. the surgeon is doctor Adam canter Neurosurgery. my fear is the possibility of needing a re-open..
