What Causes Constant Rise In CEA Levels In A Breast Patient?

I have had breast cancer .Two years later in June 2016 had colon cancer. My CEA blood work keeps rising. I have had Pet/ CAT scan . My CEA went from 3.4 to 5.5 and then 7.2 to 11.2 last month. Is there anything I can do to get it down? I have a pen head size spot on my right lung.

Oncologist 's  Response
Hi,

So a CT scan is indicated once every 3 months to look for recurrence. CEA elevation alone has no meaning. There should be some evidence of disease on ct to treat it.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Deepak Sundriyal,
Oncologist
