What Causes Constant Soreness In The Eye?

My left eye is really sore. Sometimes when I sleep at night and i have to get up to go to the bathroom, if I try to open my left eye to quickly it will start to water and then it feels like a pressure on my left eye. I have to either put pressure on the left eye or a damp rag on the eye for relief. this has been going on now for over a year. what could it be?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear Greetings
Regarding your experience with dripping of water in your left eye associated with pressure like effect I am suggesting that you are gradually developing an acute glaucoma
In view of this please see an ophthalmologist specialist for expert clinical assessment and adequate drug prescription
If for any reason drug treatment fails you will definitely need a surgical interventional procedures
I hope this helps Regards
