Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have constant stomach pain and I don't know why. it comes and goes but sometimes it hurts so bad that I cry. I know for a fact that its not my period but it scares me. Sometimes it lasts for days. I looked up symptoms about my pain and the number one thing that popped up was Gastritis. Is that what it could be ?
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history and understood your concerns. Severe stomach pain which makes you cry, not in periods, lasts for days, comes and goes means there is an organic lesion that needs the following: Clinical evaluation, examination by a General Surgeon. X-ray of the abdomen in standing position. Further evaluation by CT scan and.or barium studies.Upper GI Endoscopy and colonoscopy only if required. Tests of blood and stool and urine. All these will lead to a certain diagnosis and gives a plan for further management. May need surgery if there is an obstruction or so.
