What Causes Constant Thinking Of The Past?

I had an episode of schizophrenia 2 years ago due to marijuana smoking and was prescribed olimelt ,I recovered within a month but the following depression lasted for an year, another episode came 2 moths ago and again I was kept on olimelt and regained touch with reality and delusions disappeared but now thoughts seem to stick in my mind and my mind keeps on thinking and thinking all the time about any random event from last or anything , I need to put effort to calm it and focus on work at hand but as soon as i try to relax again it start obsessing over thinking and random thoughts keep popping in my head which are mostly irrelevant and I don t want to think about them. This gets worse when I try to sleep and when I wake up I find my mind flooding with irrelevant thoughts. What is this?
