What Causes Constant Upper Abdominal Pain?

I have stomach pain like being punched in the upper stomach. The pain is constant and i can feel it when i stand up straight. i can also feel it when i touch that part of the stomach. I am healthy and very active and i have never had this feeling before. I took 2 aleve wondering if it is muscle related from working out? But the aleve didn t really help. I am 53 years old, 5 2 and weigh 106.

Hi
Thanks for posting on HCM
Pain in the upper abdomen could be caused by many medical conditions. However, only an examination by the Doctor can orientate given all the possible causes and origins of upper abdominal pain.Pain in the upper abdomen could be of:
-Gastric origin lake gastritis/GERD
-Hepatic/gall bladder origin
-Splenic origin
-Kidney origin
-Lungs origin
-Cardiovascular origin like an ischemic heart disease
I will advise you see the Doctor for evaluation.Depending on the orientation the Doctor will get from physical examination, objective tests may be requested to confirm diagnosis.
Hope this will help
