General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Constipation is quite common after perineal surgery. It is due to spasm of sphincters following the procedure. Nothing much to worry and it will settle by itself. It will take a couple of weeks for complete recovery.

As of now include more fiber-rich foods in your diet. You can take laxatives like lactulose for symptomatic relief.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
