What Causes Constipation After Stopping Augmentin?
I took augmentin 500 mg twice a day for 20 days for a sinus infection. During use I started off with watery diarrhea which later turned to very loose stools for nearly 3 weeks. Beginning about 3 days after stopping, I started to be constipated and it has continued for 3 weeks. I am able to pass a small amount of rock-like feces with lots of strain. I have tried some things to correct, but not much effect. Is it possible the augmentin eliminated the digestive beneficial microbes and I need to put some back in?
