What Causes Constipation And Dark Circles Under The Eyes In A Child?

I have a son who is 7yrs old who has ADHD and ODD and he is having issues with his stool being hard. He is also has dark circles under his eyes and is slightly pale. I have had his iron checked and it came back normal. I just made an appointment with his doctor but I am still concerned about what might be causing it.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

First of all it's sad to know what your son had been going through lately.

Based on the history you have shared, his symptoms can be due to his psychological problems which can cause impaired diet and digestive system abnormalities.

That can in turn cause micronutrients deficiencies. Taking supplements for vitamin D3 and B complex may be helpful. Trimetabol can be used for increasing appetite. A review by psychiatrist and motivation psychologist can be helpful.

Regards
