What Causes Constipation And Diarrhea After A Meal?
I have this problem for quite a while but recently it s gotten much worse. Every time I eat I get immediately bloated. I ve been having a lots of gas. My bowl movements are generally pretty regular but, often I have immediate diarrhea after a meal. I d been taking a good quality probiotic 10 billion CFU. I ran out and didn t have them for a few weeks. I have them again but since things have gotten worse they aren t as effective. I ve recently moved into a more plant based diet. This has increased the gas it seems and I e suffered constipation and diarrhea. But, the bloating is serious now as well. I haven t cut out dairy but, I m headed that way.
As you noticed, the plant based diet would cause more bloating particularly foods such as cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, beans, turnips, brussel sprouts, apples, prunes.
You should reduce the intake of these foods.
If you are using milk with lactose, you may want to change lactose free milk or an alternative such as soy milk.
You may also want to consider a food diary, to see if there are particular foods that cause the diarrhea to occur. It is possible that you are allergic or intolerant to particular foods
I hope this helps
