As mentioned that he underwent the prostate cancer surgery and now facing issues while bowel movement, it is much common in most patients, as due to medication, which becomes heavy for the physiological system to take care of leads to gastritis and abdominal pain. You can wait for time being as to get the bowel movements come back, your uncle needs to some physical activity like walking. Atleast, sitting and standing needs attention as bowel movements occurs when the gravity acts. Also, i did not understand how can cotton come out of bowel, One possibility is while using cremafin procedure they must have used it, but in any other case, i dont think cotton is placed in situ and comes out of bowel movement.
