I m a 6 months pregnant. I had chronic constipation problem before my pregnancy. It somehow disappeared during my pregnancy. But now today I again suffered from d same problem and had to put a lot of pressure to ease out in d morning. Hope applying pressure doesn t harm my baby. Regards Kika
You should take more liquid and fiber in your diet. You may try some stool softener under the guidance of your doctor as stool softeners are generally considered safe during pregnancy. Colace is one stool softener you may take. It contains docusate. Milk of Magnesia is another laxative you can take safely during pregnancy. Do not exert a lot of pressure. Also note that only less than 3 bowels per week is considered constipation during pregnancy.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
