What Causes Constipation While On Thyronorm?
I was taking a dose of 75 mcg Thyronorm daily empty stonmach for my TSH4 reading. I missed taking the tabs for a wek and the TSH raised to 6.5. As doctor advised dosage to 100 mcg. Since then I am getting constipation and dry stool. Is this a side effect? What do you suggest?

Hello,
TSH level has gone high because of interrupted treatment. Constipation is due to hypothyroidism itself. Thyronorm, if given excess at best can cause diarrhoea. Repeat Free T3, Free T4 & TSH after 08 weeks.
High fibre diet and laxatives like Ispaghula husk or lactulose will ease constipation.
