What Causes Constipation While On Medication For Herpes?

Hello, I m a straight male person, i started having few Acne-like bumps on my but and a big one inside my buttock few days ago soon after my urination starter to hurt but i still didn t take it seriously, next day the one in my buttock got more painful and felt like i had more than before and i also felt tired and started having flu, i took a picture send it to an Dermatologists friend of mine and she thought its herpes so the day after i went to an walk in clinic and the doctor just by a quick look at the one on my butt which is less painful said its herpes, he put me on medicine and its been two days so far and feel better urinating but i haven t had a bowl movement in 2 days which is not normal for me, considering last time i had sex was around 2 month ago and she doesn t believe she has anything and that these are around my buttock and i am a straight guy, i find all of these a little strange, also i was wondering if any of there could be symptoms for hiv and if i should take a test for that.

I have been through your question.
According the first question it is known that acyclovir (antiviral treatment for herpes) usually can cause diarrhea as a side effect but not constipation. So in your case, constipation could be for other reasons (not eating enough fibre, or not drinking enough fluids ect) but is not related taking acyclovir. Furthermore. related to sexually transmitted Herpes Simplex Virus , you should know that is recommended to screen as well for HIV. In cases of sexually transmitted HSV, people are more at risk to have an other STD such as HIV. In your case I suggest to screen for HIV. It is important to understand that although someone may not have visible sores or symptoms, they may still be infected by the virus and may transmit the virus to others.
