What Causes Continuous Discomfort In Lower Left Abdomen?
I HAVE continuos discomfert in my lower left abdomin to thrrigjt and slightly above my pelvic bone, MY doc saidit was likely gas where the large intestine crosses horizonetaLy over from the stomach, and this made sense but it seems to have intensified., Does a colonscopygo upthat far? IHad one 8 years ago., TH
The commonest causes I can think of after reading your history are: * Colitis that is inflammation of large intestine * Enteritis as small intestine occupies the area you have mentioned * Ureteric stone or urinary tract infection * Cystitis that is inflammation of urinary bladder
In female patients the problems related to ovary and fallopian tubes can cause such symptoms. I would advise you to do a clinical examination by a general surgeon. Ultrasound the whole abdomen. Test blood, urine and stool. Get preliminary symptomatic and specific treatment. If there is no relief then CT scan and colonoscopy as you have mentioned.
