What Causes Contractions In Calf And Toes?

Currently I have an L4L5 disc herniation/protrusion on my left side. I also have pulsing or mini contractions in my left calf, my toes on my left foot and my left foot also tries to curl inward at times. Currently I am on muscle relaxers to try to get some relief. Do you believe the symptoms are due to the herniated disc?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Yes your problems can be due to herniated disc as L4,L5 supplies the leg below the knee joint mainly.
What's your age by the way and are you a known diabetic or hypertensive.
Other than taking muscle relaxants, you can also add some calcium and nerve supplements in your diet which ll provide you some relief.
I find this answer helpful
