What Causes Cottage Cheese Like Particles In Stool?

My 6 mo old started daycare 2 weeks ago and for the past week he has had cottage cheese looking clumps in his stool. Color of the stool is normal, but now contains white bits. Is this normal? He did get a cold from starting daycare. Bowel frequency has increased to 4-5x a day.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your description of stool and the frequency of stools are not normal. However, a stool exam will be needed to rule out an infectious origin. Just see the doctor for examination.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Mbuomboh Veranso
