Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My boyfriend was admitted in to the hospital since Tuesday due to pneumonia. He had influenza before and has finished all the Tamiflu tablets. But right after he finished the Tamiflu, he was infected with pneumonia. He is getting better now but still cough and has some pain in the back and chest. Doctor said that he can come home tomorrow. My question is, he will have a business trip to a very cold countries (10 hrs. flight) on Wednesday, May 3. Is it safe for him to travel? He is 26. Weighting 86 and 6 feet tall.
As your friend was diagnosed with pneumonia, it was the cause for cough and chest pain. As he is recovering now and going to travel to cold countries. He can go but take proper precautions regarding warmth. Continue and complete medications as advised. Avoid exposure to cold. Take care.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Shyam B. Kale,
