What Causes Cough And Back Pain While Suffering From Cold?

I have had a cold for a week, approx 6 days I coughed and i experienced sever pain in my back and right kidney. As the week has progressed the pain in my right kidney when I cough is the worse pain I have ever experienced. I am a 57 year male in good shape. Any advice on why it hurts so much when I cough?

back pain is due to stretching of ur abdominal muscles while coughing it causes streching of underlying structure and cause pain
