Hi,
Your Doctor has prescribed
cough medications already, and antibiotic
Levaquin for treating infections of the lung.
Prednisone was given for airway inflammation and
Allegra for combating
allergy. Here are a few things you should know:
1) Your antibiotics were working well which can be seen with a reduction in your temperature.
2) A cough will subside once your airway is clear from irritant and inflammation for that sometimes it may take 7-10 days in some cases depending on the severity.
3) If your cough persists more than 10 days you can visit your doctor again and he may prescribe you a higher cough suppressant.
4) Take warm fluids.
5) Do not lay down immediately after food or after taking tablets.
6) Make your environment dust free by regularly vacuuming it.
7) Avoid all known allergens that trigger your URI.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Moses John Wesley,
General & Family Physician
