Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I wear a cpap machine and seem to breathe in the metal from the area where the water chamber is. It seems after I had the cpap I developed a cough from the chest. Could I be allergic to the metal in my cpap machine? Any suggestions, thoughts or advice?

What Causes Cough While Wearing A CPAP Machine?
Hi, Since you are on CPAP machine (assuming primary pathology in Lungs) first lung infection has to be ruled out. If there is no lung infection then it may be because of an allergic reaction. I don t think allergic to the metal in CPAP is the reason. Anyway, contact your primary physician if the cough persists and go through chest x-ray once. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Take care Regards, Dr Harikrishna Yamjala, Emergency Medicine Specialist
