Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hey, I have really bad shooting back pains now and then throughout the day, and a very bad chesty cough that hurts quite badly. I coughed up a little bit of blood this morning. I am very worried and have been looking on the internet. The symptoms sound like phenomia or bronchitus?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of coughing up of blood which seems to be due to upper respiratory tract infection leading to bronchitis/ granular pharyngitis. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to do warm saline gargles and take steam twice a day. Avoid use of sharp and spicy food substances. Avoid cold carbonated beverages. Your symptoms will resolve in 1 week. if symptoms keep son persisting you should consult ENT specialist and take proper treatment. You should get X-ray chest done along with pulmonary function tests. Doctor may prescribe antibiotics amoxicillin for at least for 5 days along with decongestant.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
