What Causes Coughing Up Green Mucus And Runny Nose?

Hello, I have been sick for three weeks. I ve been coughing up bright green mucous and my nose constantly runs. The doctor I went to see just prescribed me Amoxacillin. Obviously it did not help. Now it hurts when I breath in. What do you think I have? A Sinus infection? Bronchitis? Phemonia?

Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hello and welcome to HCM,
Green colored mucus suggests infection with pseudomonas bacteria.
Associated running nose can be due to associated nasal infection.
The green colored mucus needs to examined for microbiological examination and culture.
These investigations will determine the type of infection.
The culture should be followed by drug susceptibility to determine the most appropriate antibiotic effective against the bacteria.

Thanks and take care
