Hello,

You are really doing a great and wonderful job. Regarding your symptoms, as you have completed the course of Augmentin with persisting cough and some shortness of breath with exertion, I would suggest the following:
1) We can go for one more dose of antibiotic for a week like tab. Azithromycin 500mg once daily for 1 week
2) You may experience some gastric irritation with the above medication.so kindly use tab. Pantoprazole 40mg once daily before food
3) If there is no improvement, you may need to go for sputum culture and sensitivity test; sputum for AFB would be the last choice

The shortness of breath with exertion can be a sign of any underlying heart disease. It is not to scare you but considering your age and risk factors, I would suggest to go for:
1) ECG
2) 2D ECHO
Not on emergency basis. After the lung complaint gets alleviated and you recover.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
