What Causes Cracked And Painful Foreskin Under The Penis Head?
Hi. Since I was put on Amoxicillin before a tooth operation, I have had issues underneath my penis head in the foreskin. I told the doctor and she we thought it was a yeast infection. So she prescribed me meds to keep it from happening. Well I still get a little soar directly under my penis head and it s like it holds moisture from a type of draining causing my foreskin to crack and is painful. I ve research and saw it said use an antibiotic oinment. So I have been. But it won t heal. How can I heal myself? This has been going on for about 4 months...off and on

You have a condition called as balanoposthitis. It is a very common condition. The following treatment will cure and after treatment advise would help in getting rid of recurrence. Keep the area clean and dry. wash the area with soap and water at least twice a day. Dry the are under fan after bath or washing. Wipe the area with tissue after every time you pass urine. Avoid wearing undergarments whenever possible. Apply a mix of ointment miconazole and Betnovate in 50:50 ratio (mixed properly) for 3 days, then apply only Miconazone for next at least 1 month.
Even if the area appears to be normal, continue applying Miconazole for long. After the treatment gets over, continue taking precautions as advised above. If there is a cut in the skin then add an antibiotic ointment to the above combination of Betnovate and Miconazole in equal proportion of all three ointments. Antibiotic can be any like Soframycin or Neosporin. In this case, stop Betnovate after 3 days, antibiotic after 1 week and continue miconazole for 1 month.
